About the Artist

Hailed as an “expressive, intelligent, and meticulous performer,” Korean born, Canadian-American pianist Haewon Yang is sought after for her flexibility across different genres and carefully studied interpretations of pianistic repertoire. Working closely alongside composers, she has given world premieres and presented many new works to audiences across North America. Her debut album was released in 2025 through Navona recordings, which features the complete solo piano repertoire of American composer Harry Bulow.
In recent seasons, Haewon has been invited to perform with the Santa Fe Community Orchestra, Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra, the Salon Concerts at Klavierhaus in New York, NY, the New Mexico Performing Arts Society, the Southwest Arts Recital Series in Santa Fe, NM, the
Tippecanoe Chamber Music Festival in West Lafayette, IN, and guest artist recitals at Purdue University, Earlham College, Indiana University East, and Franklin College. After her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, Haewon went on to complete graduate degrees from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, finishing with a Doctor of Music in Piano Performance and Literature (Minor in Music Education). She attributes the entirety of her pianistic formation and musical training to her teachers Paulette Price, Marietta Orlov, and Arnaldo Cohen. Teaching is an equal passion as performing for Haewon, and she has previously taught at the University of New Mexico – Los Alamos Campus, Indiana University East, and the Young Pianist Program at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She currently balances her time between a performing career and her private studio in Indianapolis. Haewonyang.com
