About the Artists

Saeideh Rajabzadeh (she/her) is a Persian-Canadian mezzo-soprano, musicologist, music director, educator, and community builder with a passion to serve and meaningfully contribute to the conversations of diversity and inclusion through her research, education, consultation, and performance work. She has collaborated with several organizations such as the Canadian Opera Company, the National Arts Centre, Against the Grain Theatre, and the Great Canadian Theatre Company. Saeideh currently serves as the Reviews Editor at Choral Canada’s Editorial Committee.
Saeideh holds a Master’s of Arts in Musicology, a Graduate Diploma, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Ottawa. Between 2019-2021, she produced and authored a thesis research project entitled “‘Haply I may remember, And haply may forget’: The Doubled Nature of Intertextual Genre Relationships in Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Six Sorrow Songs, Op. 57”.
In her free time, Saeideh loves to make macrame art pieces, read Victorian novels, memorize Persian ancient poetry, and hang out with her bunny Shookoofeh.

Olivia Adams is a pianist, teacher, and researcher in Ottawa, ON. She holds an MA in Music and Feminist Studies, a B.Mus. in Piano Performance, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Research at the University of Ottawa, examining piano pedagogy and literature through the lens of Critical Disability Studies. Olivia is the author of Loud and Clear: A Guide to Levelled Piano Music by Women Composers in the 20th and 21st Centuries and has won numerous awards for her work in inclusivity in piano music. She enjoys playing music by women across Canada and in the US, and collaborating with other artists in Ottawa, including playing in a piano duo with her husband. Olivia is also the host of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra’s Loud and Clear Podcast.

Our venue offers limited parking, with street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood. The venue is accessible, which includes automatic doors, a dedicated accessible washroom and no stairs required for entry.
