The Beaverbrook Community Concert Series is proud to present: “Da Capo: A Homecoming Concert,” a piano solo concert by Emily Hou.

About the Artist

Known for her sensitive colours, dramatic expression, and signature smile, Korean-Canadian pianist Emily Hou is quickly establishing herself in Canada, the United States, and Europe. She has performed at venues such as the National Arts Centre, Carnegie Hall, Beethoven-Haus, and Museu Romântico, appeared at major festivals such as Ottawa Chamberfest, and participated in masterclasses with Benedetto Lupo, Stewart Goodyear, Gary Graffman, and Angela Hewitt. She has also given masterclasses at Steinway Piano Gallery Ottawa, and her recording of Reflections in the Water (2021) by Juno Award nominee Vincent Ho is featured on his official website.
Emily’s achievements include 1st place at the OMFA Open-Level Competition (2023), ORMTA-ORB Young Artist Competition (2023), and uOttawa Chamber Music Competition (2022), as well as the RCCO Award for Best Bach Performance at the Ottawa Piano Festival (2023). She holds a LRCM diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Ottawa, where she studied with David Jalbert, served as President of ADÉMSA, and received the Faculty of Arts Award of Excellence (2022) and Friends of NACO Distinguished Leadership Award (2023).
Currently based in Montreal, Emily is completing her Master’s degree at the Université de Montréal under the tutelage of Jean Saulnier and Charles Richard-Hamelin. She is excited to return to her hometown of Ottawa and share her latest program in the Beaverbrook Community Concert Series!

All of our concerts are held at Kanata United Church, 33 Leacock Drive Kanata ON. Our venue offers limited parking, with street parking
available in the surrounding neighborhood.
The venue is accessible, which includes automatic doors, a dedicated accessible washroom and no stairs required for entry.
