The Beaverbrook Community Concert Series is proud to present: “A Travel Through Time: The Sonata Odyssey” featuring pianist Nicole Wu. This concert will take place on 23 March, 2025 at 3:00pm, at Kanata United Church (33 Leacock Dr., Kanata ON).

About the Artist

Nicole Wu is a pianist recognized for her technical mastery and artistic depth. She has distinguished herself in numerous prestigious competitions, including the 2022 OSM Competition and the Canadian Music Competition, earning prestigious awards such as the Golden Award at the 2016 Shanghai International Competition and first prize at the 2017 Irmler International
Competition.
Nicole actively seeks opportunities to enhance her musical skills, attending masterclasses in her school by renowned musicians like Daniel Shapiro and Robert Levin. She has also participated in renowned music festivals, including the Domaine Forget Academy, Orford Academy, and the International Holland Music Academy (2023) where she performed three recitals, receiving praise and acclaim for her exceptional performances. Furthermore, this year she was invited to participate in the 2024 PianoTexas Young Artist program upon full tuition scholarship. These experiences have enriched her artistry, along with guidance from esteemed professors such as Angela Chang, Benedetto Lupo, Ronan O’Hora, Kevin Kenner, Christopher
Elton, Jan Jiracek von Arnim, Boris Berman, Norma Fisher, and Arie Vardie, affirming her commitment to continuous growth and musical excellence.
Nicole is currently an undergraduate piano performance student at McGill University, studying under the supervision of Dr. Ilya Poletaev. Her studies are kindly funded by internal scholarships from Schulich School of Music, the Hnatyshyn Foundation and the Jeunesses Musicales Canada.
Her dedication extends beyond music, with diverse interests in drawing, reading, swimming, and ice skating. She also excels as a competitive badminton player, having been a valued member of her high school senior badminton team and the esteemed Holy Trinity Badminton Club.

All of our concerts are held at Kanata United Church, 33 Leacock Drive Kanata ON. Our venue offers limited parking, with street parking
available in the surrounding neighborhood.
The venue is accessible, which includes automatic doors, a dedicated accessible washroom and no stairs required for entry.
