About the Artists

Rebekah Waddell is a performer, educator, and aspiring artistic event coordinator. She is studying a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at Carleton University in Ottawa, with a focus in classical trumpet.

Her classical trumpet work can be seen in her solo performances, as well as in ensemble settings with the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra, Ottawa-Symphony Orchestra Wind Quintet mentorship, and the Ottawa Youth Symphony Orchestra. Rebekah has also participated in the Carleton Fusion and Jazz ensembles where she has been fortunate to represent female brass and trumpet players in a variety of musical genres. These creative outlets have provided her the opportunity to expand her worldview and interest in brass music.

She collaborates regularly with Nicholas Busch and is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with him in this concert series.

Rebekah is studying her classical training with Travis Mandel; and working with Ed Lister on jazz trumpet and learning industry techniques related to session music.

Nicholas Busch has completed his Masters in Collaborative Piano at Western University, studying with Dr. John Hess, and Professor Mariana Chibotar-Rutkevich. He has collaborated with vocalists and instrumentalists in various recitals, competitions, and festivals, and has performed as part of the Adams & Busch Piano Duo throughout southwestern Ontario. He has a passion for new music and has had the honor of premiering and recording many new pieces for both mixed ensembles and solo piano by composers from across Canada. He currently holds the position of Director of Music at Kanata United Church, and is the Project Coordinator for the Beaverbrook Community Concert Series.
